How to edit PDF text

Keep the original file, then open the PDF editor and choose your PDF.
Select the text region you want to change and enter the replacement.
Adjust its size or position where needed, especially when the replacement is longer.
Use Preview to compare the changed text, nearby content, names and numbers with the source.
Download a separate edited copy through the website’s current account and access checks. Open that downloaded PDF and inspect it before sharing.

Can’t select the text?

A scanned page may contain a picture of text rather than selectable characters. A restricted PDF may also prevent editing. Read why PDF text cannot be selected to identify the right workflow before repeating an edit.

If you need an editable Word document from a scan, use PDF to Word with OCR. Compare recognized names, dates, amounts and table values against the source; OCR is not a guarantee of exact transcription.

Existing text editing
